Last weekend, from 8 to 10th October 2011, at the CLUBE TAP PORTUGAL's Sports Campus, the ASCA SUPERTEAM event, organized by us, was a brilliant success. All participants gave us credit for our organizations, as follows:

ASCA Super Team 2011 in Lisbon

Agreat friendship has been formed between Icelandair and TAP last years, wich we enjoyed by their generous hospitality during our stay in Lisbon. " The Super Team" is designed for the internal boards of different Clubs, within the airlines participating in the ASCA. The games are opportunity for the participants to meet in fun games, based on joy, team building and getting to know boards of other companies Clubs.Eight Teams had signed up for the game but only Austrian Airlines and icelandair managed to participate, and the hosts from TAP. All conditions were perfect and the weather played an important role as the games were played outdoors. The competition took place at the sporting grounds of Clube TAP. No Super Team Competition is alike and no special rules, except that everyone should be able to be involved and the lost manages and controls the execution altogether.

The Super Team rules allow many things that are not considered good sporting practice, such as bribing the judges, put on fun costumes and teams are also awarded for team-spirits and other funny occurrences.It was João Fernando Rodrigues who was the driving force behind the Tournament, but he was assisted by the ASCA members of TAP - Alvaro Silva and Alexandra Silva. This is the first time tha TAP hosts a Competition in the Super Team.

The Icelandair Team was called by the fine name "Bombshells Von Ice" (The Idea was obtained from Victoria Secret perfume "Bombshell"). The Austrian Team called themselves, "Austrian wunderwuzzies" which actually means one who can do everything, knows everything and is capable of everything. Locals called their team "TAP"". The Competition was fierce and the tension and concentration as well as laugh impacted participants and judges. Among tasks was group run with glasses full of water, target shooting, tricks with the balls, go through children´s playground, find candy in a bowl full of flour, and more fun tasks. After the contest the Group was invited to lunch and then was gone for a short sightseeing tour around Lisbon.

As usual, as all ASCA games do, we ended with a dinner where results were announced and prizes awarded. The ASCA Super Team Winners 2011 are the "Austrian Wunderwuzies". "The Icelandair Bombshells Von Ice" came in second place and last was TAP as good host usually do. Team Icelandair thanked the Tournament hosts and contestants with number of gifts. The greatest attention and satisfaction was the ash from Eyjafjallajokull which has been crafting with and placed in small jars and labeled. Everyone knew when the Glacier erupted last year, causing ash problems in the world of aviation.
